This video isn't examining the difference between VGA and HDMI formats, but between our VGA to HDMI converter and our VGA to RCA converter. RCA maxes out at 480i while HDMI can get? up to 1080p.

I've never had any problems with VGA, even with a 40" screen. It depends on the cable and on? the (vga) output quality. If I connected my notebook to my TV I bet you wouldn't see any difference between VGA and HDMI. At least I don't! This video just seems exaggerated!

i hav HDMI and DVI port on my pc and DVI and VGA on monitor, and There is two port on 1st .My TV device VGA out for monitor and? 2nsd15-pin terminal (round shape) out of which is VGA, for display card. All are u requested to suggest me best use of these port , to get better output as well as suggest me cables and convertors

Video states the bleeding obvious! Tip: Always set the resolution to the native resolution for the display you are using. If you have multiple displays and they have different native resolutions use extend mode rather than mirror this way you can run both displays at a different resolution. Windows 7 usually detects the native resolution abs will recommend it? for you. I guess macs also can detect this.

Oh, I noticed at the end you were comparing a VGA to HDMI converter to a SW-23000 PC to TV converter, my bad. Yeah, now days we have graphics cards that connect directly to HDMI, such as the nvidia GT 250. However, I found out, since I last posted, that for some odd reason the quality still isn't so great using the HDMI cable to directly connect to the TV, I found I could see many lines and grains of colour in my desktop wallpaper and when Windows? 7 was booting up.

By PC to TV converter, we mean a converter that takes the VGA output on? your laptop or PC and converts that to either S-Video or Yellow Composite Video. So the quality is much less than that of HDMi. With the PC to TV converter, you get a signal of about 480i. HDMi can get you a signal from either 720P or 1080P depending on the converter.(in your case you don't need a converter since you apparently already have an HDMi output on your computer.

by PC to TV are you referring to using a? HDMI cable directly from your graphics card to your TV set? if so, you're wrong about the qualiy, donno what you were using pal but I got a HDMI cable directly from my PC to the TV and I don't have quality that bad, its pretty clear actually.

i have a question.. I have a laptop which supports up to 1920 x 1200 resolution and I want a dual monitor. The thing? is that it only has a VGA output. If I buy a 1080p lcd monitor and use a dvi converter to use that with the laptop's vga output, how good the quality would be? Will I be able to get 1080p resolution on the monitor?

what you say is true,? this video really only aids people who are trying to decide between going with a PC to HDMI TV solution or a regular old fashioned PC to TV (RCA composite video). Its a well known fact that HDMI is better and this video is showing exactly how much better it is.

actually these screen shots are quite accurate and undoctored. the vga to hdmi converter we used in this video? scales the image to fit the HDTV screen no matter what the video source's resolution is set at. With VGA to RCA it is often difficult to fit a typical NTSC format perfectly since there isn't any scaling going on.
